Which is the model that has the best performance and the best value for the money? Before you make your choice, know which one has the best quality between the two models.

Behringer HPS3000 Vs HPS5000

Due to the mesh design on the back of the ear cups, you may think that Behringer HPS5000 is a pair of open-back headphones. However, the mesh design is merely a decorative touch, as the model is closed-back. The difference between an open-back and a closed-back headphone is that an open-back design allows the sound output to blend with the environment, creating a realistic immersion effect. Meanwhile, a closed-back headphone isolates away the environment so that you focus on the sound output of the headphone, allowing you to hear more details of the music. Behringer HPS3000 is also a pair of closed-back headphones.

Behringer HPS3000 is colored in black and silver, whereas Behringer HPS5000 is almost entirely black. The padding on Behringer HPS3000 is somewhat thicker, making it more comfortable to wear for a prolonged time than Behringer HPS5000. Behringer HPS3000 also has a much more rugged and durable design than Behringer HPS5000, which has a lot of issues with the build quality. The parts of Behringer HPS5000 seem to get loose quickly, and the loosen parts are vibrating, creating such an annoying noise.

Behringer HPS5000 comes with a 1m coiled cable. Behringer HPS3000’s 2m cable is straight. Both come with the ¼” adapters, making them suitable for smartphones as well as mixing consoles.

Actually, both of these two models have a similar frequency response range. Their frequency response range is 20 Hz – 20 kHz, which is excellent. However, Behringer HPS5000’s impedance is 32 ohms. The low impedance allows the headset to deliver higher volume levels. On the other hand, Behringer HPS5000’s impedance is 64 ohms. While still providing audible volume levels, you may want to pair it with an amplifier to increase the volume. The higher impedance is beneficial that the audio output becomes more accurate and clear. The bass, midrange, and treble are defined more properly.
