Performance
At first, KRK Rokit 5 may seem to be a better way to go for any purpose. This is because the model offers 50 W total output power and 106 dB maximum SPL handling. It has a frequency response range of 45 Hz – 35 kHz. The output power is slightly bigger and the frequency response range is slightly wider compared to of M Audio BX5. However, KRK Rokit 5 is not exactly balanced. It has superb bass, for sure. But the bass can be somewhat too boomy, covering the mids and highs as the effect. Hence, the clarity is affected negatively. Nevertheless, KRK Rokit 5 can still be an excellent choice for casual listening, especially if you like strong bass settings.

On the other hand, M Audio BX5 is coming with 40 W total output power and 90 dB maximum SPL handling. The frequency response range is 56 Hz – 22 kHz. However, the audio reproduction is well-balanced. The bass is full and solid without muddling the midrange and treble. The sound is crisp and with decent clarity, making it a very good budget choice for studio monitoring.
