Bose is a widely considered as a high-quality brand. Many have chosen Bose’s speakers because of the excellent performance offered. Now, if you are looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that you can easily bring along to parties, there are two interesting models that you may want to consider: Bose SoundLink Revolve and Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus. Well, despite the similar looks, Bose SoundLink Revolve is available at a significantly lower price point than Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus. So, why is such price gap? See the differences between Bose SoundLink Revolve vs Revolve Plus below!
Design and Dimensions
Bose SoundLink Revolve is made for the sake of portability. It is pretty compact and lightweight, measuring just 3.25 inches in diameter and 1.5 lbs in weight. Thanks to the portable design, you can easily put the speaker inside your daypack or simply slip it into the side mesh pocket. Unfortunately, unlike its sibling here, it does not have a handle bar.
On the other hand, Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus is quite larger and a little bit heavier. It has a diameter of 4 inches and a weight of 2 lbs. The bulkier shape may make it a little bit trickier to bring along. But it hasn’t completely forsaken its portability, as it features a nice handle bar for easy carrying. Both of the two models are splashproof with a rating of IPX4.
Although the manufacturer does not specifically mention how much output power that these portable speakers produce, it is true that they are powerful enough for both indoor and outdoor uses. Despite the size, Bose SoundLink Revolve can produce balanced sound with good accuracy and clarity. The volume levels are also pretty good. This model makes a nice choice for a small room with just several people. The battery life is up to 12 hours per charge – should be sufficient for most uses.
On the other hand, Bose SoundLink Revolve Plus is apparently equipped with a larger LF driver. It is capable of producing louder volume levels without experiencing distortion. In addition, the bass performance is also noticeably better. The low-end is fuller and deeper. In addition, it has a longer battery life; it can last for up to 16 hours per charge.
Both Bose SoundLink Revolvevs Revolve Plus are wireless Bluetooth speakers. They both support voice prompts, allowing you to easily access Siri and Google Now. That’s very convenient. Instead of reaching out to your mobile device, you can simply speak voice commands to adjust the volume or go forward to the next track. By using the iOS or Android app, you can also pair two speakers together to create a stereo system.
