Creative Pebble V2 vs V3: Setup

However, each model here also includes a USB Type-A to USB Type-C converter, so you probably will be able to use pretty much any device to power the speakers.

Keep in mind that the USB cable only provides power to the speakers. You still need a separate connection to actually play music.

In the case of Creative Pebble V2, you need to use a 3.5mm cable to connect the speakers to your device. This cable is also quite long, so you won’t find any real difficulty even if your computer is placed on the floor while the speakers are on the desk.

Perhaps the only small issue with Creative Pebble V2 is cable management. Since there are separate cables for connecting the left and right speakers, power, and audio connection, your desk may get cluttered quickly. It can be quite a hassle to tie the cables to keep things neat, especially if you want to use the audio cable for other devices too.

Creative Pebble V3 is much more convenient in terms of setup. It can use Bluetooth 5.0 for the audio connection. As a result, you have one less cable to deal with. You only need to manage the cable between the left and right speaker, and the USB power cable.

Some people are probably wondering whether Creative Pebble V3 is really a good solution. It already has a wireless connectivity, so the fact that there are still two cables to deal with may be disturbing. Well, these speakers don’t have any battery, so you won’t need to recharge them ever. You can just keep the speakers plugged in and then forget about them. Read also: JBL Charge 4 VS Sony XB33 here.

But some people don’t like to deal with too many cables. They may get tangled and broken if not properly managed. Not to mention the possibility of accidentally pulling a cable and knocking everything off from your desk.

Creative Pebble V3 is more convenient and more versatile. It has Bluetooth 5.0, which is a great solution. It can play music wirelessly from any Bluetooth-compatible device. You won’t need to move any cable when switching devices.

Still, Creative Pebble V3 has an optional 3.5mm input jack. The cable is not included, but you can find a 3.5mm cable easily anywhere. So, the speakers are still universally compatible with any device, and you are still able to use the speakers with your old computer or DVD player if you want to.
