UE MegaBoom Vs JBL Xtreme

UE MegaBoom and JBL Xtreme are two wireless portable speakers in a similar price range. Previously, we have ever discussed UE MegaBoom with other products, Beats Pill XL and Bose SoundLink 3. All of these models are made by big names, thus, comparing them all can be intriguing. Okay, here, the two contenders both boast to be able to provide exceptional bass quality. They also offer similar unique features, plus long-lasting battery life. Is UE MegaBoom better than JBL Xtreme, or vice versa? Let us find out.

UE MegaBoom Vs JBL Xtreme

Audio Performance
Both models claim to have astonishing loudness and powerful bass, but UE MegaBoom is slightly better than JBL Xtreme. It has slightly deeper solid bass performance, as it has wider frequency response range than JBL Xtreme. Both models can sound 360-degree, and both are armed with dual passive radiators that enhance their power performance.

Both UE MegaBoom and JBL Xtreme feature Bluetooth connectivity as well as 3.5 mm input. However, each of the products has each own unique features here. JBL Xtreme can connect to up to 3 devices simultaneously, streaming music in turns. UE MegaBoom can only connect to up to 2 devices at the same time. You can also use JBL Xtreme as a power bank for your mobile gadgets, something that UE MegaBoom can’t do. But, UE MegaBoom allows you to integrate an identical pair of it to play music from the same source.

UE MegaBoom and JBL Xtreme do have some protection against water. Yet, UE MegaBoom is more durable and reliable than JBL Xtreme. This is because JBL Xtreme can only withstand water splashes but not submersion. UE MegaBoom, on the other hand, has an IPX7 waterproof rating, can endure submersion up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes.

Battery Life
UE MegaBoom has a longer battery life than JBL Xtreme. It can last up to 20 hours, as opposed to JBL Xtreme that can last only up to 15 hours.

Considering the advantages it possesses, UE MegaBoom will likely provide better usability than JBL Xtreme. It has better performance, better durability, and better battery life. Yet, JBL Xtreme can be handier in a sense that the device can act as a power bank. UE MegaBoom is still more recommended, but, if you often find your gadgets running out of power outside, JBL Xtreme can be a very versatile equipment.
